‘Even the nicest Kassab got…’: Satyendar Jain defends viral massage video, says no rules were broken

Delhi Minister Satyendar Jain, who is currently imprisoned on charges of money laundering, told a primary court on Tuesday that he was not given proper food and medical check-up in Tihar Jail and had lost around 28 kilograms of weight in custody.

He also alleged that the Execution Directorate investigating the minister leaked sensitive information to the media despite the court order and undertaking issued in this court.

Jain was referring to a video clip of him receiving a massage from someone inside the prison.

He introduced Jain to the court through his advisor Rahul Mehra: “I was defamed every minute by their act.”

Mehra also denied allegations that Jain was receiving privileged treatment in Tihar jail.

“I lost 28 kg in jail. Is this what a privileged person gets in jail? I don’t even get proper food. What privilege are they talking about?” presses on his hand or feet.”

Mehra also mentioned that the investigation agencies had already put Jain on the gallows. He said that even Ajmal Kasab got a free and fair trial and that Jin was certainly no worse than him.

“Even Ajmal Kasab got a free and fair trial. I am certainly no worse than that. All I seek is a fair and free trial. Please look at the kind of media reports working against him that are in their interest,” Mehra filed in court.

Last week, Jain moved the Special Court to file a contempt action against ED. He alleged that the Central Agency leaked the surveillance camera recordings despite the undertaking in court.

Today, ED’s lawyer, Zohaib Hussain, denied the leak allegations and said the agency would see that those responsible would be brought to justice. He said that the assumption of a leak on the part of the agency was unreasonable. He said there was no leakage and there will be no leakage by the agency.
