UK-based vinyl-on-demand platform FlexStage has appointed music industry veteran Raoul Chatterjee as its new COO.
The CEO will be based at the company’s headquarters in London and will report directly to Co-Founder and CEO Steve Rhodes.
Chatterjee joined elasticStage from his previous role as Vice President, Content Partnerships and Operations at SoundCloud.
He first joined SoundCloud as Director of Content Partnerships in January 2016, tasked with securing music licenses in Europe with major and independent record labels.
MBW reported in August that he was leaving the music broadcasting company.
Chatterjee previously held senior leadership roles at leading digital music services and record labels including Ministry of Sound, Warner Music and 7Digital.
He also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Entertainment Retailers Association (ERA).
Stig Flexibility is a D2C platform that offers on-demand vinyl including printed sleeves that the company claims will be dispatched immediately from the point of creation with “no minimum operating restrictions and no upfront cost”.
The startup raised £3.5m in a seed funding round earlier this year.
Last month, the company opened a 10,000-square-foot production and R&D facility in London.
“I started my career selling vinyl records in 1990, so there’s a nice fit with my new role.”
Raul Chatterjee said, “I couldn’t turn down the opportunity to be part of a revolution that will see Stig Flex provide a complete vinyl D2C solution to music creators around the world.
“I started my career selling vinyl records in 1990, so there’s a nice fit with my new role.
“This is a real game-changer for music creators who have not yet been able to properly access this exponentially growing market and have the ability to manufacture, market and sell vinyl records in any quantity upon demand. Stig’s flexibility is to really move the disc.”
“Raoul is a proven executive with a proven track record of success in the label, rights, retail and music maker sectors.”
