TIKR Features

stock research

TIKR offers in-depth fundamental data for more than 100,000 stocks from more than 92 countries.

The platform does an excellent job of presenting the financial data. You can view a company’s income statement, balance sheet, or cash flow statement on a quarterly, semi-annual, or annual basis for any time frame you choose. The data is displayed in an interactive table, and if you click on any row, a chart appears to visualize changes in the selected metric over time. You can plot multiple metrics on the same chart or export any of the data to Excel for more in-depth analysis.

TIKR - Financial Data

Even more useful, TIKR also offers similar interactive tables for base ratios and rating ratios. You can easily track a company’s return on equity, net debt to EBITDA, price-to-book ratio, and much more over time. All of these scales can also be plotted. TIKR also tracks analyst ratings over time, letting you see how a stock’s Low, High, and Mid price targets and the number of Buy/Sell/Hold ratings from analysts have changed over time.

TIKR - Financial Charts

TIKR also offers a table of peer analysis. You can’t choose which companies to include as peers, but the unique thing about this feature is that TIKR offers tables for each sub-sector in which the target company is located. For example, for Apple, you might analyze the company against peers in the software space, against peers in entertainment, or against peers in semiconductor manufacturing.

🏆 Top Rated Services 🏆

Our team has reviewed more than 200 services. These are our favourites:

TIKR - Peer Analysis

On top of these in-depth analysis tools, TIKR tracks market news headlines, upcoming events such as earnings and earnings reports, and which institutions or funds own shares in the company. It also provides records of earnings calls and SEC filings. Finally, there is a basic layout feature that lets you add labels, tags, and captions. These are useful for planning major company events on a price chart.

TIKR - Charts

Stock checker

The TIKR stock checker is one of the best basic stock checkers we’ve seen. It provides more than 300 screening parameters, categorized into valuation metrics, basic ratios, income statements, balance sheets, cash flows, and analyst estimates. You can search for any parameter to add to the screen, making it easy to comb through a large library of parameters.

TIKR - Stock Scanner

Better yet, TIKR gives you more control over what you scan than most other basic scanners. When filtering based on revenue, for example, you can set up conditionals based on value, annual percentage change, or compound annual growth rate. You can also specify the date range that the conditions should respect.

The results are shown in a table. Another table shows summary statistics on the results, including the mean, median, and standard deviation for each of the parameters included in your screen.

Fund holdings

TIKR also tracks holdings of more than 10,000 funds by tracking 13F filings. You can pull up a table showing all of the fund’s holdings, including information on whether any holdings have increased or decreased in recent filings.

TIKR - Chests

TIKR does not provide any summary statistics, such as which stocks see the most activity from the funds. Therefore, this data can be useful if you want to track a specific fund or investment expert, but it is not all useful in generating investment ideas based on large-scale institutional activity.

Customize and plan TIKR

TIKR allows users to set up an unlimited number of watchlists. This is nice because you get the news feed and events for each watchlist. Therefore, it is very easy to follow upcoming earnings reports or important developments. You can also customize which columns of data are displayed for your watchlists, allowing you to quickly compare specific key data to a custom selection of stocks.

Paradoxes of the TIKR platform

TIKR stands out from other fundamental equity research platforms thanks to its global data coverage and ease of use. Data is presented in an intuitive way, and basic data visualizations are easy to pull off. There aren’t as many customization options as you get from a platform like Stock Rover, but TIKR also doesn’t feel restrictive in any way.

The other big thing that sets TIKR apart is its free plan. Fundamental investors who are primarily interested in US stocks can get everything they need from TIKR without paying a dime. The only limitation is that you can only save one stock screen.

What type of trader is best for TIKR?

TIKR is an easy-to-use, data-rich platform for fundamental investors. The Free plan is a great option for investors who focus on US stocks, while the Plus plan offers investors an inexpensive way to get data on almost all stocks around the world.

TIKR does not offer any technical analysis or portfolio management tools, so it is not a do-it-all platform. But for long-term investors looking for high-quality fundamental data and a comprehensive examiner of underlying stocks, there’s a lot to like about TIKR.
